Elinor Bennett’s musical roots are in the village of  Llanuwchllyn, the home of Côr Godre’r Aran, and  her father was one of the founder members of the choir. In her childhood, Elinor was immersed in the rich culture and traditions of the area.  Meinir Heulyn  joins Elinor in the  harp duo “Scenes of Childhood” by John Thomas. Together with Gillian Green,  they created “Coleg Telyn Cymru” which held many harp courses and Festivals for young harpists in Wales. Many of the members of the North Wales Harp Ensemble, including Tudur Eames the conductor (and Director of the Gwynedd & Môn Schools Music Service) studied with Elinor.

The premiere performance of a new work – “LLECHI” (SLATES) – by composer Math Roberts, and former national poet of Wales, Ifor Ap Glyn, will be given by vocal soloists and instrumental alumni of Canolfan Gerdd WIlliam Mathias, to celebrate the World Heritage status given by UNESCO to the slate quarries of Gwynedd.
