Hands on Harps

For children of school age 6+ who are interested in the harp but have not yet received harp lessons. With Angharad Wyn Jones & Catrin Morris Jones.

Free, but booking is essential.

Nansi Richards Scholarship Competition

15 April 2025, 3:30pm, Stiwdio 2

A £1,500 scholarship is offered, by the Nansi Richards Trust, to a harpists under the age of 25 living in or born in Wales. Each candidate is required to present a programme of contrasting works up to 20 minutes in length, to includes a Welsh melody or an original work by a composer born in Wales.

No admission charge (collection for the Nansi Richards Trust at the end)

Festival Course

16 April 2025

Harpists of all ages and levels are encouraged to register for the one-day harp course – a fantastic opportunity to receive one to one and group tuition by experienced teachers and to take part in a variety of workshops and performances.

Hebe Kan Yuet, a 19-year-old harpist from Hong Kong, won the 2024 United Kingdom Harp Competition. At 16, she earned her FTCL Diploma and was awarded distinction for her LTCL at 11. Hebe has won several international prizes, including 1st Prize at the 2018 Young Artist’s Harp Competition in Ohio and 3rd Prizes at the Osaka International Music Competition. She has performed globally, including at the Korea Seoul Arts Centre and the USA International Harp Competition. Currently a second-year music student at Trinity College, Cambridge, Hebe is the principal harpist for the Cambridge University Orchestra.
