Catrin Morris Jones as new Wales International Harp Festival Organiser

5 Aug 2017

We are pleased with the recent appointment of Harpist Catrin Morris Jones as Wales International Harp Festival Organiser. She will work closely with Elinor Bennett over the next few months on the Festival that will be held between 1st – 7th April 2018.

With over twenty years’ professional experience as a London-based harpist, Catrin now lives with her family in Pwllheli and is harp teacher at Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias since 2015.

Catrin said: “I’m delighted to be working with Elinor Bennett, the Festival Director, and look forward to working with the team at Canolfan Gerdd William Mathias and local volenteers to create an exciting and successful festival.”

Organised by CGWM, the week-long Wales International Harp Festival will be a feast of concerts, competitions and materclasses, to celebrate the 90th birthday of the iconic Welsh harpist, Osian Ellis.

Festival Director, Elinor Bennett, said: “I’m very happy that Catrin has joined the team to organise the Fourth Wales Internatioonal Harp Festival to be held in Galeri Caernarfon next April. Catrin has an extensive experience of organising harp events and I look forward enormously to having her help and energy to ascertain that the Harp Festival will go from strength to strength in future and will attract hundreds of harpists from many countries to Caernarfon next April.”
